This page explains what happens to the information you give halfway through tryhalfway.com. halfway is run by William King, 155 Markle Road, Lanark, Ontario K0G 1K0, who is responsible for how your information is handled. If you have a question, or want your information changed or deleted, email privacy@tryhalfway.com.
What we collect
When you join the pilot list, we collect:
- your work email address
- your organization’s name and type
- which AI tool you’d record first
- which boxes you ticked (pilot contact, and optional news), and when
That’s all. The site doesn’t use tracking cookies, ads or analytics. Like most web hosts, Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
Why we collect it
To run the pilot list, to contact you about a pilot, and, if you ticked the optional box, to send you halfway news. We use the organization and tool answers to decide who to contact first.
Who else handles it
The site and the sign-up form are hosted by Netlify, a company based in the United States, so your answers are stored on their servers and may be kept outside Canada. Email goes through Namecheap and Google. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until halfway stops running the pilot list, whichever comes first.
Your choices
- Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on it within 10 business days.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing privacy@tryhalfway.com.
- If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Data recorded during a pilot
This policy covers the website and the pilot list only. Before any organization connects AI tools to halfway, we’ll publish a separate policy and agreement covering that data, including where it’s stored, who can see it and how long it’s kept.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. If the change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell you first.
